Clinical Leadership: Serves as an expert nursing resource to the interdisciplinary team regarding patient care issues and clinical operations. Facilitates clinical coordination of care to promote a smooth patient flow and maximize patient experience. Develops a daily staffing plan to ensure adequate nursing resources. Collaborates with nurse manager around effective use of staff resources. As Clinical Leader, provides leadership for clinical operations on a daily basis. Communicates pertinent information regarding IR activities and leads unit practice changes. Assists in preparation of the IR nursing payroll and staff scheduling.
Staff Development: Supports the orientation of new nursing staff and the development of clinical expertise. Provides real time feedback and guidance to clinical staff to promote clinical and professional development in areas such as patient assessment, clinical decision making skills, provision of patient care, and clinical documentation. Participates in the determination of unit based nursing competency needs.
Quality Improvement: Participates in the development of annual unit based quality goals and objectives based on unit outcome data and needed system and process changes. Supports staff with the implementation and evaluation of quality improvement initiatives, evidence based practice changes, clinical guidelines, protocols, policies and procedures.
Required Certifications: Current AHA BLS
Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years current interventional radiology nursing practice in the CHA Interventional Radiology Suite and Department of Radiology.
This position is only available to CHA Interventional Radiology RNs. 2 years prior critical care nursing experience required.
