Based in the PAS space on the main Cambridge Hospital campus, the Nurse Practitioner is primarily responsible for working with the Medical Director on the overall assessment and treatment of patients at all levels of care. The patient care is client-focused and goal oriented with a focus on improving or restoring the patient's functional level. Specific duties shall include (but are not limited to): prescribing of medications, the administration of injections of longer acting medications, and some short term psychotherapy – both group and individual. Completes patient chart documentation as required by all pertinent governing bodies in a timely manner. Collaborates with the medical director in the coordination and provision of psychopharmacologic treatments. Demonstrates ability to handle emergency situations in a prompt, precise, and professional manner. Demonstrates expertise in nonviolent crisis prevention and management. All responsibilities of the Nurse Practitioner will be consistent with the scopes of practice acts governing health care clinicians in Massachusetts.
Masters in Nursing; certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
