  • Ability to work in a fast paced, often stressful environment. Ability to respond appropriately to urgent patient care needs. Ability to prioritize. Able to perform the following in all patient populations, including pediatrics, adults, & OB: vital signs, weights, heights, lengths, and head circumference accurately. Identifies presenting complaint and reports/prepares for visit according to protocol. Perform, record, and report abnormal findings of the following tests: FS glucose, FS hemoglobin, FS lead, Urine dips, Urine hCG, EKS's, Vision & Hearing test, Guiac Collect Process, store and transport specimens per protocol. Able to do order entry for labs. Perform basic computer skills and show proficiency in typing. Ability to understand and navigate Electronic Medical Record system. Routinely stock and clean rooms. Keep work areas clean using appropriate disinfectant. Monitor medical supply outdates. Answer phones and assist providers with exam as needed. Prepares patient for visits according to protocol, and completing all documentation into EMR quickly and accurately. This also includes tobacco assessment, safety assessment, fall history. Assist providers with procedures, following policy for storage, cleaning, and preparing instruments for sterilizing. Perform and document QC on all required equipment, including refrigerator. Communicates with all medical assistants to coordinate breaks/lunches to allow adequate coverage for clinic. Work closely with assigned planned care team to provide best outcomes for patients, including telephone and letter outreach to patients. Provide patient information and instructions. Schedule appointments as required. Additional tasks as requested Qualifications/Experience Preferred 5 years experience in a medical setting or certification from Medical Assistant Program. Spanish &/or Portuguese speaking preferred. American Heart Association BLS required.
