    Med Surg 6N is a 32 bed adult Medical/Surgical which specializes in Post Op & Telemetry patients. Our goal is to promote and restore patients' health by collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members. We provide care for a diverse patient population including GI, cardiovascular, and respiratory illnesses. We deliver care with an emphasis on assessment, education, prevention, maintenance, and restoration of health in a supportive and culturally sensitive manner.

    Job Purpose

    Within the established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, perform various clerical and administrative support duties in Nursing Service Units. Essential job functions are focused on customer satisfaction, management of patient data, teamwork, and coordinating unit activities.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities
    The Unit Secretary performs various clerical and administrative support duties with a focus on customer satisfaction and teamwork. Knowledge and comfort with customer service experience and an ability to work in a busy stressful environment.

    Qualifications/Requirements

    Education/Training:
     - High School Diploma/GED
    Work Experience: 
     - One year hospital experience as a Unit Secretary preferred. 
     - Must have excellent customer service skills. 
     - Working knowledge of word processing and use of e-mail preferred. 
     - Attention to detail. 

    Physical Skills: 
     - Physical ability to perform for long periods of time (eight hours) (i.e., walking, lifting, bending, twisting, kneeling, standing, reaching, squatting) and to carry equipment or transfer patients as needed.
