DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

The CHA Imaging department provides advanced medical imaging services led by a team of board-certified physicians, certified technologists and service-oriented staff . We offer a full complement of imaging services including a 128-slice CT and a wide bore 1.5T MRI. We also offer interventional radiology services, diagnostic X-ray, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. We are accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) which demonstrates our commitment to the safest and best quality care possible.   

Summary:
Performs a wide range of routine and emergent CT procedures. Must be capable of working independently, unsupervised in a fast paced setting. Must possess a wide range of technical knowledge. Must be able to make advanced clinical imaging decisions. Must possess good communication skills and meet service excellence standards.

Responsibilities:
• Contributes to the achievement of excellence to the department’s delivery of healthcare through the quality and caring values of the Cambridge Health Alliance.
• Recognizes when others are in need of assistance and consistently offers help when own workload permits or finds someone who can be of assistance.
• Contributes to the time management of the department by being punctual to work, honoring lunch, and break time limits.
• Assures that all work assignments are completed according to department and hospital standards. Uses sick time appropriately.
• Does not call in sick more than 5 times per year. Gives required notice for all sick calls.
• Adheres to the Alliance guidelines on patient confidentiality and the release of imaging data.
• Constructively analyzes work processes and contributes to the radiology team to improve workflow as needed
• Contributes to the team effort to insure efficient completion of all required department work within the appropriate time interval allotted on a daily basis.
• Effectively participates in the training of new employees and students. Works assigned schedule including overtime, holidays and call as required.
• Completes all CHA mandatory and department required training.
• Reads all department communications such as emails, newsletters and meeting minutes in a timely fashion.
• Accepts responsibility for all updates, changes and new items included in these communications.
• Promotes a professional image by adhering to the established dress code.
• Wears hospital identification badge at all times.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology Program Current Massachusetts state license Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification in CT imaging modality preferred. Must be certified in CT within one year of employment if not currently certified. Current AHA or ARC BLS certification. New Grads are welcome but must be enrolled in a CT program at time ofhire

This position requires rotations between two locations.

Holiday rotation is required.
