The CHA Imaging department provides advanced medical imaging services led by a team of board-certified physicians, certified technologists and service-oriented staff . We offer a full complement of imaging services including a 128-slice CT and a wide bore 1.5T MRI. We also offer interventional radiology services, diagnostic X-ray, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. We are accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) which demonstrates our commitment to the safest and best quality care possible.  

The Radiology Department is committed to providing patients with the highest quality of care in an efficient and timely manner. The department will be as accessible and sensitive to patient's comfort, safety and dignity as possible within the scope of services. 

Job Purpose: 

Provide administrative supervision, directly or indirectly, for support service activities and programs to assure high quality, access and levels of service.

Communication Skills:
• Accurately records and conveys all phone messages to the appropriate person. Correctly obtains name and phone number of caller. Messages are written legibly.
• Greets patients and others in a manner that is polite and respectful. Presents a helpful attitude at all times. Maintains a high level of awareness of customer importance and continually seeks to satisfy patient and customers needs
• Directs and coordinates various personnel functions including, but not limited to; orientation, training, staff schedules and vacations for front line staff.
• Collaborates with and recommends to Sr. Director various personnel functions including but not limited to hiring, promotion/discipline, transfers and performance appraisals
• Develops and leads orientation and training for front line staff to ensure competence. Identifies on-going training needs for staff and ensures timely and effective competency assessment.
• Motivates staff. Demonstrates ability to effectively and positively influence and persuade staff to achieve organization/department goals and objectives.
• Observes and monitors observance of CHA and department policies, procedures and protocols and ensures staff knowledge and adherence.
Operations:
• Contributes to the achievement of excellence to the department’s delivery of healthcare through the quality and caring values of the Cambridge Health Alliance
• Ensures staff accurately collects all information from patient and/or provider to assure accuracy of demographic, billing and order information. Will include running, assessing and acting on various transactional and mgt reports to ensure accuracy and timeliness of order receipt, order entry and telephone services.
• Develops and implements systems for telephone service and other administrative areas that meet the CHA and department standards for performance.
• Provides support to radiologists by acting as the liaison between providers and radiologists. Assuring accurate and timely answering of radiologist phone line and delivery of messages.
• Constructively analyzes work processes and contributes to the radiology team to improve workflow
• Establishes staff schedules, task assignments and allocation of staff, space and equipment to ensure conformance with department commitments.
• Ensures the resolution of and/or handles patient complaints or problems related to customer service and other front end services
• Responsible for implementation of computer software enhancements or new features that impact front end services.
• Effectively interfaces with the IT department, as needed to resolve hardware and software problems
• Participates in the department QI program by assisting with the development, use, analysis and feedback of department performance measures.
• Works in collaboration with Chief of Radiology and Sr. Director to establish, track and communicate realistic operational and fiscal goals for support services
• Provides administrative direction and coordinates implementation of current and long term improvement plans
• Provides leadership and participates in the team effort to efficiently complete all department work within the appropriate time interval.
• Maintains liaison with all levels of administration, physicians and outside organizations to coordinate department business, accomplish directives and facilitate problem resolution. Evaluates problems and implements resolutions seeking guidance from the Sr. Director as appropriate. Other duties as assigned

Work Experience:
Three years successful, related administrative or radiology department. Experience with Demonstrated competence in applying general operational practice, personnel practices, fiscal principles and coordination of support operations. Demonstrated leadership ability
Education: A bachelor’s degree in a business related field
