DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
The Cambridge Midwifery Practice at Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) is seeking an experienced midwife. Our practice serves a diverse, multicultural client population and our service reaches the needs of this population in multiple clinics for antepartum care, gynecological care in addition to hospital birth, we may offer birth at The Cambridge Birth Center.
Job Purpose: This position is a day/night shift rotation, inclusive of weekends and holidays for antepartum care, triage, as well as intrapartum and postpartum care in the CHA clinics and the Maternity McGovern unit. Staff are expected to work in the Birth Center as needed. In the role, the qualified candidate will be responsible for the practice of midwifery as outlined in the Policies Specific to and Scope of Practice at CHA for Certified Nurse Midwives as established by CHA and the American College of Nurse-Midwives.
Must be able to physically negotiate all clinical sites, work as assigned in CHA location and timeframe assigned. The candidate must possess strength and endurance to perform physically for long periods of time, including nights(up to 12 hours), i.e., walking, lifting up to 25 lbs, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, kneeling, standing, reaching, squatting. -Must have the physical dexterity and psychomotor skills to respond swiftly and appropriately to routine and emergent patient care needs in the clinical setting.
Qualifications/Requirements: Qualified candidates must possess the following: ACNM Certified Nurse-Midwife -Licensed in MA. Candidates with 2 years experience preferred. -Master's preparation is required. Language skills preferred - NRP & BLS (American Heart Association) certified required. DEA & MA controlled substance certification required. Each candidate must have ultrasound education approved by CHA by 6 months of hire.
