Med Surg 6 is a 32 bed adult medical surgical telemetry unit with a focus on post-operative surgical care. Our goal is to promote and restore patients' health by collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members. We provide care for a diverse patient population including GI, cardiovascular, respiratory illnesses, and post-surgical procedures including General Surgery and Orthopedics. We provide care with an emphasis on assessment, education, prevention, maintenance, and restoration of health in a supportive and culturally sensitive manner. This is a fast-paced, high-pressure, constantly changing environment.
The clinical nurse leader provides and oversees quality patient care according to Cambridge Health Alliance standards of nursing practice. Assists the nurse manager in the coordination of the clinical environment by ensuring the delivery of relationship-based care in a manner consistent with safe, efficient, and cost-effective resource utilization. Serves as a resource to staff in clinical practice, staff development, and professional growth in consistent collaboration with the nurse manager. Provides functional direction to members of the healthcare team while optimizing available resources to achieve quality patient outcomes. Demonstrates advanced nursing skills in their respective clinical specialty, and possesses the necessary leadership skills to direct performance improvement initiatives. Supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization. 12hr rotations into clinical assignment as assigned.
Graduate of NLN Accredited School of Nursing[cha013017]
Current Massachusetts RN license required
American Heart Association BLS required
Minimum of 5 years clinical experience in related field with a minimum of 2 years charge RN experience preferred.
