Job Details
Under the direction of the Coordinator of the Prevention Integrated Counseling Screening and Referral Program (PICSR), and within established Alliance guidelines and departmental policies and procedures, provides community education and individual counseling for HIV, HCV, and STIs. Also provides community based and Cambridge Health Alliance wide education and outreach for counseling and screening services. - Provides services from a harm reduction/risk assessment approach in a non-judgmental manner. Be available to all Cambridge Health Alliance clinical sites to perform education to staff and to counsel clients about HIV, HCV, and STIs. - Refer to range of services throughout the Alliance as appropriate. Shares with other staff members some important information learned from other trainings.
Qualifications:
Work Experience: 1 year counseling and screening, education, and/or outreach experience with HCV, HIV, and STIs required. Experience with relevant community groups and/or in a multicultural setting preferred. Candidates with experience in field of health or human services are also encouraged to apply. Proficient written and oral skills in English and Portuguese Strong presentation skills Ability to work with linguistically and culturally diverse communities Experience conducting outreach and/or organizing events Demonstrated familiarity with HIV-related issues and the HIV community Demonstrated familiarity with the MSM communities Language: Bilingual (English and Portuguese or Creole or Spanish).
