The Informatics Team Lead oversees a large portfolio of projects, meetings, and tasks as assigned by the Chief Medical Information Officer, which are critical to the clinical and business needs of the CHA community. This position supports a variety of projects in collaboration with nursing leadership and the CMIO. This role differs from an Informatics Analyst in that the role will have responsibilities for other staff oversight on projects, input into reviews, technical mentoring of Informatics Analysts, supervision of consultants, technical development standard-setting, etc.

The incumbent manages the team's portfolio of projects, meetings, and tasks on a day to day basis and the associated issues that arise, and resolves those issues that require a more senior escalation path. CHA is a complex production environment requiring 24 by 7 uptimes on the majority of systems. The incumbent has a significant role in problem escalation and resolution and in quality improvement efforts.
The incumbent leads the coordination of the Clinical Informatics projects and tasks. This may include, but not limited to Clinical Documentation team agendas and tasks, managing Nova Note assignments for upgrades and updates, helping to project plan for large implementations, managing quality measure build and submission. The team lead will mentor other analysts on non software aspects.
The incumbent will assist other analysts as needed in uncharted territory before escalation to CMIO for their specific areas of expertise. This is a typical occurrence in IT due to the nature of technology and the volume of implementation, integration with other systems, and change that occurs.
The incumbent works with CMIO or designee to set departmental priorities.
The incumbent may cover in the absence of CMIO for the team - including oversight of departmental issues, staff management, etc.
The incumbent assists in evaluating staff and provides input to performance reviews.
The incumbent works with CMIO to develop competency and training plans for new and existing staff.
The incumbent participates in on call rotation.
The incumbent oversees on call schedule planning.
The incumbent may assist the CMIO with feasibility assessments of new requests, projects, and implementations.
The incumbent may lead large teams and /or committees to gather requirements or as part of system selection, managing user expectations, and / or general feasibility assessments.
The incumbent is responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement and maximizing use of existing functionality in an integrated way where possible.
The incumbent will manage the most difficult support problems by providing information technology (IT) solutions, managing and implementing new processes to support CHA needs. The Team Lead while work closely with the CMIO on these efforts.
The incumbent works closely with CHA department directors, managers and executive management. S/he interfaces with the entire IT staff and other departments at CHA to ensure performance requirements are met for any existing or new project and that business needs are understood and incorporated into support and acquisition plans.
The incumbent directs system analyses, system modifications. S/he participates in quality improvement activities.


Other information:
Education/Training: BS or equivalent in computer science, or related field with a masters or work towards preferred.
Work Experience:
Certification: PMP, MBA or other post-grad certification/degree in management desired. Epic Certification required.
Experience: 1Q years in Healthcare IT (Hospital, Provider Practice or Healthcare vendor Experience)
Project Mgt: 5-10 years experience. Completion of 6 or more additional substantial projects as defined by manager.
