DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

The Agenda for Children Literacy Initiative at the Cambridge Public Health Department is an early literacy program supporting Cambridge moms, dads and caregivers of children birth to 8 years old through 3 programs – Let’s Talk!, Pathways to Family Success and Cambridge Dads.

Summary:
Participate in, organize, and/or facilitate home visits, workshops, and events that:
• Help parents understand the importance of talking and reading to their young children.
• Provide information to parents about resources and services that are available to them.
• Help parents connect to agencies or organizations

Responsibilities:
• Do home visits to families in English and/or your home language. This includes finding families who want to be visited, as well as visiting them.
• Outreach to families in your communities through mailings, phone calls, and in-person conversations.
• Attend activities, events and fairs with Agenda for Children staff members.
• Assist and/or lead workshops in English, and also in another language (if you are Bilingual).
• Continue to learn about available community resources.
• Attend all necessary training sessions.
