Job Details
The Agenda for Children Literacy Initiative at the Cambridge Public Health Department and the Center for Families of the Department of Human Services, City of Cambridge collaborate on a program called Cambridge Dads. Cambridge Dads was established to build a network of dads, and promote active parenting and self-care. We support fathers through dads and kids' activities, dad only events, and social media platforms. Additionally, we welcome and include dads of diverse cultural backgrounds by reaching out and recruiting dads throughout Cambridge.
Job Purpose: Reach out to fathers through mailings, phone calls, text messages, and in-person conversations. Work at Cambridge Dads events and/or workshops such as Dads and Kids (Gym, Swim, BBQ, etc.), Dads' Basketball, Nurturing Fathers, etc. Work at community events, and/or fairs with Agenda for Children and Center for Families staff members. Continue to learn about available community resources. Attend all necessary training sessions and staff meetings.
Qualifications/Experience: Interest in and/or experience working with fathers. Comfortable playing with children - especially children ages birth to 10 years old. Experience in community outreach. Good communication skills. Knowledge and/or willingness to learn about community resources.
