DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
The Everett Hospital Float Pool provides care with an emphasis on culturally sensitive, evidence based nursing practice. While regularly scheduled, the members of the float pool are deployed on a shift by shift to provide nursing care to patients in the Med/Surg/Telemetry and Geriatric Psychiatry units at Everett Hospital.
Job Purpose/Responsibilities:
The Nursing Assistant - Float Department- knows and understands the philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of Nursing Service. The Nursing Assistant provides basic nursing care to assigned patients under the supervision of the professional nurse. Knows, understands and displays the commitment to patients' excellence of care. Working with patients on the medical/surgical/telemetry, ICU, geriatric psychiatry and other departments as needed.
Qualifications/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Certificate of completion of a nursing assistant program in Massachusetts.
Will also consider a nursing student who has completed a medical clinical rotation.
Current American Heart Association BLS certification for Healthcare Providers is required.
Will be required to take and pass a physically agility exam.
