The Patient Access Department is committed to providing outstanding customer service and registration support to our patients, families and the departments we service. We focus on patient satisfaction and we are committed to reach that through teamwork. The Patient Access department averages 6000 registration transaction per month which includes emergency room, inpatient and outpatient services.
Job Purpose: 1. Complete ED bedside registrations, inpatient admissions and outpatient registrations 2. Bed transfers, physician changes and discharges 3. Collect and validate patient demographic and insurance information 4. Collect co-pays and self pay deposits 5. Obtain necessary consents 6. Receive and store patient valuables 7. Process electronic death certificates 8. Respond to patient and staff concerns and inquiries 9. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: 1. 2-3 years of Customer Service experience preferred 2. 2-3 years of Front desk work in a hospital or health center setting preferred 3. Must be able to use multiple computers systems and type 30 wpm 4. Ability to speak Portuguese or Spanish preferred 5. Knowledge of third party insurance preferred 6. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred 7. Knowledge of Epic strongly preferred 8. Must be flexible to be able to cover other shifts in a 24/7 setting which include overnights, holidays and on-call
