Job Purpose: The Patient Access Associate reports to the Manager / Supervisor of Patient Access and is responsible for timely completion and accuracy of assigned daily tasks. Provide customer service for a diverse patient population. Duties to include, but not limited to: greeting patients, verifies insurance benefits, determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refers to financial counselors for follow up. Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy. Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Qualifications/Requirements: High school diploma or GED required. 2-3 years related work experience required. Basic familiarity with computers. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications. Must be able to work successfully in a fast-paced, multi-task environment, where some independent decision making is necessary.
