We are an OB/GYN practice embedded within a primary care center. Our practice consists of CNM's and an OB/GYN physician caring for a diverse patient population of all ages with OB and GYN needs.
Job Purpose: The Patient Access Representative II (PAR II) position consists of both administrative/clerical functions in addition to the clinical responsibilities of the medical assistant. PAR IIs are essential members of the ambulatory team. They provide the ambulatory site the flexibility of meeting both clinical and administrative needs, while contributing to the smooth operation of the clinic by facilitating patient flow. Administrative responsibilities: This position will provide clerical support to the OB/GYN clinic located at the East Cambridge Care Center, allowing for effective and safe patient care. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: greeting and welcoming patients, answering the phones professionally and courteously with ability to take accurate and detailed messages electronically for the Dept of OB/GYN. Schedule patient appointments into our electronic ''Epic'' medical record system according to our scheduling guidelines. Confirming and rescheduling patient appointments as needed, verify eligibility using our new real time eligibility system, complete registrations efficiently according to established policies in order to result in a clean claim submission. Collect process and reconcile copays to be deposited. Check out patients according to established workflows. Scan documents into appropriate patient medical record, coordinate specialty appointments as needed for patients. The ability to manage and prioritize urgent referrals for processing is critical. Clinical Responsibilities: Actively and efficiently manage the flow of patients through the clinic, chart prep, huddle with provider to optimize the visit. Room patients, assist providers with patient prep and assist with procedures, appropriate documentation in the electronic health record, Check routine vital signs and point of care testing (labs)based on protocol, clean, stock exam rooms, prepare instruments for transport as well as prepare lab specimen for transport.
Qualifications/Requirements: Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program. OB/GYN experience preferred Certifications: Maintains current AHA Basic Life Support Certification Linguistic Capabilities: Ability to write and verbally communicate in English. Knowledge of a second language preferred.
