  • The Patrol Officer investigates crimes and other violations of Massachusetts General Law and Ordinances. Makes arrests, or sets up appropriate complaints for court for those in violation as needed. Ability to communicate using modern technology related to law enforcement. Ability to obtain, record and relay information accurately. Escorts patients as needed and assists in the escorting of deceased patients. Observe and detain patients who are in crisis and deemed in need of special services. The Officer investigates individuals or situations that appear to be of a suspicious nature. Provides safety escorts as needed, generates reports and logs as required. Functions as a team member, participating in follow through or work that needs to be completed from the previous shift or weekend. Demonstrates a professional, calm and courteous manner at all times. The Officer will provide for the safety and security of all patients, visitors and staff. The Patrol Offic er maintains professional competency by staying up-to-date on the changing trends of law enforcement procedures and practices. Understands and demonstrates competency in all posts and duties. Secure and Patrol Alliance Properties on foot and/or in a radio equipped patrol vehicle. The Patrol Officer may perform the duties and responsibilities of a Massachusetts Special State Police Officer. Understands principles of criminal justice. Demonstrates good communication skills. Public relations oriented. Respectful in attitude and appearance.

    Education/Experience: Associate Degree or higher in Criminal Justice, two (2) years of prior Law Enforcement experience, or two (2) years of military experience with Basic knowledge of security and law enforcement practices. Ability to solve problems on an independent basis. Ability to produce concise, accurate and well written reports. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

    Licensure: Possess and maintain a valid Massachusetts Drivers License, Become eligible to attain SSPO Powers within 1 year in accordance to MGL 22 S63, Valid Massachusetts FID Card Certifications: American Heart Association BLS [cha010112]
