  • 1. Performs systems design, development and build. Creates creative and cost effective solutions to design challenges. 2. Develops and implements project plans, including resource allocation, task division, sets time frames, and tracks deliverables. Monitors projects and advises project members on resolving technical issues. 3. Evaluates capabilities of existing technology and the potential application of new technology. Provides recommendations for resources to meet pharmacy needs. Develops new methods for improving current services. 4. Recommends innovative solutions to new business processes and enhancements to existing systems. 5. Reviews and approves documentation (education modules or tip sheets at upgrade or implementation of new services, for example). 6. Participates in evaluation of vendor proposals to determine if vendor solutions meet business need. 7. Communicates planned or unplanned disruption of services to clients and IT in timely fashion. 8 . Coordinates cross-functional processes and works to resolve issues. 9. Communicates, as needed, to other CHA departments about work in process. 10. Participates in on-call informatics rotation. 11. Ensures work meets established standard and is adequately tested. 12. Provides technical and administrative direction to other members of Willow team and Epic analyst staff. Mentors less-experience staff and may oversee work of vendors/contractors. 13. Day to day maintenance of current dictionaries (eg Medispan). 14. Provides medication expertise to other projects. 15. Works collaboratively with other teams on medication focused projects. 16. Leads pharmacy team in making information systems medication decisions. 17. Works with IT, Clinical, Pharmacy and Quality management to develop new interventions (clinical decision support).

    Qualifications:

    Academic: BS or equivalent. Certification: Epic - not required on hire, but within one year of hire. Should have current certification as pharmacist or pharmacy tech. Other certifications (RN) would be considered depending on job experience. Experience: At least 5 years in IT healthcare (can be partially in practice, or working for vendor. Epic experience preferred). Project Management: 1-5 years experience. Should be able to discuss 3 major projects completed in prior work experience.
