Job Details

  • The Billing Supervisor is responsible for supporting the day to day operations and supervision of staff, processes and outcomes in this unit. The Supervisor helps to monitor workflows, delegates assignments and work to staff, ensures adequate coverage for operations, provides written protocols and expectations for staff, development and assessment of staff through the use of staff performance and productivity measures and completes human resource functions. Oversees the professionalism, customer satisfaction, and service excellence of staff. The Supervisor also helps coordinate department processes with other areas within the unit to improve quality data collection, minimize denials, set standards and streamlined processes. - Responsible for supervising the billing and collection activities of the assigned payers and staff members Responsible for supervising the timely and accurate production of workqueues, bills, and follow up of remittances of staff members - Responsible for working with staff on assigned A/R accounts, from initial billing to follow up, including the resolution of credit balances. - Responsible for implementing changes needed to comply with changing third party rules and requirements, and training staff on these changes. - Maintain a current knowledge and answer questions from staff on procedures, policies, directives, etc. and obtain needed information or decisions from Manager on problems that arise. - Oversight of staff workqueues (including account, billing, claim edit, follow up, denial and credit balance workqueues).Analysis of A/R with focus on identifying trends and researching root causes to be reported to Manager.

    Qualifications:


    Associate Degree required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Three to five years of experience in a healthcare or related setting supervising staff, operations and the ability to lead diverse staff. Demonstrated goal-oriented thinking, good interpersonal, operational and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to establish a professional code and work environment with the ability to remain professional, even when working through difficult situations. Demonstrated ability to work with management to research issues through problem-solving skills as well as collaborating with others within the department to solve problems. Ability to communicate with clients including patients, providers, and other office managers effectively. Experience and understanding of hospital information systems such as Epic. Good software skills utilizing Google and Microsoft office products such as spreadsheets, word processing, email and conference calls. Demonstrated knowledge of hospital inpatient and outpatient billing and payment requirements, medical terminology, ICD10 and CPT coding.
