The mission of the CHA Center for Mindfulness and Compassion (chacmc.org) is to enhance health and well-being by integrating mindfulness and compassion into healthcare and our communities. CMC is affiliated with the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and has multiple clinical trials funded by the National Institutes of Health and by private foundations, including studies of mindfulness- based programs, compassion-based programs, technology-assisted meditation (e.g., mindfulness and vagal nerve stimulation), mechanistic neuroimaging studies, and an internal family systems research program. CMC’s current studies focus on PTSD/trauma, migraines, pain, depression, anxiety, grief, and substance use disorders. 

The CHA Center for Mindfulness and Compassion is hiring for a full-time Programs and Training Coordinator to coordinate the scheduling and delivery of small and large-scale CMC programs, community outreach and various projects and events, including:

  • New programs/workshops, speaker series, as well as ongoing community drop-in groups (e.g., Daily Live Online programming) and planning events such as speaker visits and programs for CHA staff and trainees. 

  • Communications materials such as newsletters, blogs, and research related to mindfulness and compassion.

  • All aspects of day-of event logistics and coordination of CMC programs (orientation sessions, 8-week courses, workshops, speaker series, and other events), as well as professional trainings offered by CMC, including those related to Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy Teacher Training, Mindful Behavior Change Group Leader Training, and the Mindful Healthcare Scholars (MHS) professional training program. 

  • Fundraising campaigns and building relationships with various community partners. 

  • Scholarship and continuing education application processes 


Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, psychology, business, or other related field required. Relevant experience may be substituted for a degree.

  • 2+ years experience with event planning/management, marketing and public communications or the equivalent preferred

  • Experience with mindfulness and compassion programming and related communications preferred

  • Experience with Constant Contact, Zoom, Canva, website development, social media marketing. 

  • Interest in learning how to leverage artificial intelligence programs to facilitate the work
