The main purpose of the Operating Room Orderly/Assistant position is to assist caregivers to deliver quality patient care in accordance with Cambridge Health Alliance and the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses standard for nursing practice and the Operation Room Orderly’s role expectations. The OR Assistant will maintain a safe, clean, orderly perioperative environment, manifested by personal commitment, accountability and initiative in clinical practice as a perioperative team member making patients a priority, will help transport patients by wheelchair or gurney to the operating room, x-ray department, dining room and other locations around the facility, and performs other related duties as assigned or directed 

Requirements: 

High school diploma with perioperative experience. 

Associate Degree preferred 

Certifications: American Heart Association BLS 

Work Experience: Minimum 1 year current perioperative experience in OR setting required.
