Department Description:
The Research Department at Cambridge Health Alliance advances the organization’s mission by supporting applied services and clinical research that promote health equity, improved delivery of mental health services to adults, youth and children, and community well-being. The department collaborates with a wide range of partners, including other research labs at CHA, other academic partners, including other Harvard Psychiatry Departments, community organizations, health systems, and public agencies. With multidisciplinary expertise, the individuals in the research department assist in the design, implementation and administration of rigorous, community-informed projects that generate actionable insights and drive positive, data-informed change.
The Health Equity Research Lab (HERLab) is a health services research center bringing together an interdisciplinary team of researchers and clinicians committed to advancing physical and mental health in diverse communities. The HERLab develops and evaluates high-impact interventions, uncovers pathways of resilience in the face of social and economic adversity, fosters collaboration among researchers, clinicians, and community members, and trains the next generation of investigators to produce research that drives action.
Summary
The Data Analyst plays a key role in driving innovative research on health services disparities, working alongside the Director and Principal Investigators on cutting-edge NIH-funded studies. In addition to providing expertise in research methodology and statistical analyses, this position offers the opportunity to contribute to high-impact research that shapes policy and improves care for diverse communities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Quantitative Psychology, or related fields preferred
- At least one year of experience supporting academic research
- Familiarity with SAS and SQL necessary
- Interest in health services research
- Excellent communication and teamworking skills
- Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Quantitative Psychology, or related field
- Familiarity with R, Python, and Stata is a plus
- Familiarity with data management in Google Cloud Platform a plus
- Familiarity with NLP and machine learning-based predictive analytics a plus
- Experience supporting the publication of peer-reviewed journal articles is a plus
