The Revenue Cycle Department is responsible for managing the full scope of billing, collections, and cash posting for CHA. The team ensures accurate and timely billing, monitors accounts receivable trends, addresses payment issues, and implements system improvements to optimize workflow. They oversee denial management, vendor relationships, and all credit and collection activities—safeguarding CHA’s financial health while maintaining positive relationships with patients and payers. 

The primary objective is to provide support performance of medical record coding, auditing and identifying and overseeing correction of systems and administrative errors affecting the coding workflow.

The Reimbursement Analyst II is responsible for review of coding and abstracting outpatient medical records utilizing ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 codes to assure accuracy associated with charge capture. This requires thorough review of the medical record to validate assigned codes for optimal APC reimbursement, as well as to assist in accurate correction of coding issues associated with claim submissions reported through edits in the claims management system, denial management system or via audits.

Qualifications: 

  • Post high school coursework in medical records administration, anatomy, physiology and medical terminology
  • One of the following Certifications by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA): Certified Professional Coder Certification (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist- Physician based (CCS-P) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder-Hospital (CPCH).
  • Qualifications: Two years of coding and records/data analyzing experience in a health care (acute care) setting
