The main purpose of the Operating Room Assistant is to assist caregivers in delivering quality patient care in accordance with Cambridge Health Alliance and the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses standard for nursing practice and the Operating Room Assistant’s role expectations. 

• Maintain a safe, clean, orderly perioperative environment. 

• Manifested by personal commitment, accountability, and initiative in clinical practice as a perioperative team member making patients priority. 

• Help transport patients by wheelchair or gurney to the operating room, x-ray department, dining room and other locations around the facility. • Performs other related duties as assigned or directed 

Qualifications/Requirements: 

High school diploma with perioperative experience. 

Associate Degree preferred 

Certifications: AHA BLS 

Minimum 1 year current perioperative experience in OR setting required.
