Job Summary

As a Sergeant, you will perform general law enforcement duties to protect persons and property. You will enforce federal, state, and local laws, as well as CHA policies, to prevent losses and manage incidents effectively.

Responsibilities Include:

Supervision: Provide operational supervision on assigned shifts, including inspecting officers for readiness and monitoring attendance and overtime.

Law Enforcement: Investigate crimes, make arrests, and set up court complaints when necessary.

Patrol & Security: Secure and patrol Alliance properties via foot or radio-equipped vehicles.

Emergency Response: Observe and detain patients in crisis, provide safety escorts, and assist with the escorting of deceased patients.

Administrative Oversight: Review and approve reports, counsel staff on corrective actions, and recommend officers for commendations.

Incident Command: May perform "Campus Security Officer" functions under the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS).

Qualifications & Requirements 

Two years of college education in law enforcement, security, or a related field.

Three years of prior experience as a law enforcement officer

Completion of a basic law enforcement training academy.

Licenses & Certifications

Possess and maintain a valid Massachusetts Driver’s License.

Eligibility to attain Special State Police Officer (SSPO) powers (per Mass. GL 22c S63).

Valid Massachusetts FID Card.

Current CPR and First Responder certifications.
