Department Description
In addition to performing the standard Case Worker duties, play a lead role in the mentoring of the Case Workers in Psychiatry, and represents the role at a departmental level in terms of program development, implementation of systems, and overall program evaluation.
The Lead Case Worker for Outpatient Psychiatry Department (OPD) helps individual clinicians, and the overall department, by working directly with patients to assess and identify all psychosocial needs, help them and their families access vital services to address these needs, and consolidate available resources to facilitate these connections. By providing this support, the OPD Case Worker should help improve both patients’ and providers’ experience of care, enabling Mental Health clinicians to spend more time delivering professional services, and connecting patients to services that are vital for improving their overall health, functional status, and quality of life.
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or equivalent Human Service field required; Master’s in Social Work or equivalent Human
- Service field would be a plus.
- Work Experience: 1-3 years of related work experience required. Experience with relevant community groups, direct health service delivery, and past work in mental health and multicultural settings is strongly preferred.
