Established in 2014, The Center for Mindfulness and Compassion (CMC) is part of the Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) healthcare system, a Harvard Medical School (HMS) teaching hospital. Operating under the CHA Department of Psychiatry, CMC is a research, training, and clinical center, working to integrate evidence-based mindfulness and compassion practices into primary care, mental health, and outpatient healthcare settings. Our offices are within CHA’s Malden, MA location.
This position supports clinical research studies within the CHA Center for Mindfulness and Compassion. The post-doctoral research fellow will design and implement studies with the supervision of the Center Director and/or the study PI. They will also run data analysis and both lead and/or assist with manuscript and grant application preparation.
Oversee operations and coordinate implementation of CMC's research projects.
Assist the Primary Investigator and Co-Investigators in the development of study tools and templates, study protocols, consent forms, study monitoring plan, and other Institutional Review Board materials.
Manage databases for clinical research projects.
Perform data cleaning activities such as data review, query generation, and integration.
Conduct activities related to database quality control and database security.
Write statistical syntax and run analyses on study data under guidance from Principal Investigator and Co-Investigators.
Provide guidance and supervision to all supporting members of the study team as needed, related to project tasks.
Communicate performance to managers.
Work with the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigators to develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, and study tracking tools. Ensure clinical research programs are conducted in accordance with Good Clinical Practice and relevant regulations, and advise study team members in this implementation.
Plan and conduct intra-departmental and cross-functional communication to ensure transmission of critical information to relative parties in a timely and proactive manner.
Attend, present, and participate in professional meetings and trainings, as appropriate.
Design and achieve personal education and training goals related to continued development and technical knowledge.
Lead the preparation and publication of manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals and conference presentation
Qualifications:
Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) required (engineering, neuroscience, psychology, statistics, or other biological sciences)
4+ years of research experience preferred
Experience with data analysis
Experience in mindfulness, integrative medicine, and/or meditation research preferred
Interest in writing research grants and building independent research careers is encouraged.
