DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

The Psychiatry Access Service provides both Transitional Care and has a Partial Hospital Program. The mission of the service is to provide a holding treatment environment for patients transitioning from Inpatient Level of care, or Psychiatric Emergency Room.

Summary:

As part of CHA’s Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) initiative, we are looking to add Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health clinical expertise to our staffing of our Psychiatry Access Service. Specifically we are looking for clinicians with expertise in evaluation and triage of children and adolescents in psychiatric distress, along with experience working with families and making referrals to specific programs designed to provide care and support to this . The diversity of the child/adolescent patient population served by the Cambridge Health Alliance, in addition to the treatment modalities utilized requires interdisciplinary expertise and collaboration. More specifically we’re looking for the ability to develop rapport with diverse children and adolescents having mental and/or substance use disorders. 

Qualifications:

  • Qualifications: Education/Training: Masters degree Social Work 
  • Licensure: Current MA licensure as LMHC, LICSW (Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker), or LCSW (Licensed Certified Social Worker) considered with eligibility for licensure of LICSW within one year. 
  • When required, must be credentialed by the CHA Medical Staff for practice in relevant clinical practice areas, and should ideally be CANS certified and familiar with conducting initial CANS assessments. 
  • Bilingual in Portuguese, Spanish, or Haitian Creole is strongly preferred. Experience in short-term and behaviorally-oriented therapies (e.g., cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma focused-CBT, dialectical behavior therapy, parent management training) is preferred. Expertise in neurodevelopment, gender and sexuality, and early psychosis are also preferred.
