Department Description: 

As the first point of contact, you will welcome all to CHA facilities and offering assistance that may providing directions, escorts, and informational services.

Job Summary:

To greet and provide information to patients and visitors at the Main Lobby Information Desk and to create a welcoming environment in the hospital entrance for all people who enter. Ability to train volunteers as needed and to validate patient and visitor parking as appropriate.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a clean, neat environment for patients, visitors and staff
  • Greets and provides information to patients and visitors
  • Initiates contact with each person as he/she enters the lobby, including hospital employees, offering a greeting and/or assistance
  • Directs patients and visitors to the proper location in the hospital, giving clear and easy instructions. This may include escorting patients, only when necessary, who are unable to navigate the hospital based on language, disability, age, etc. or those unfamiliar with the hospital layout.
  • Responds to phone inquiries regarding patient condition, hospital services and directions to hospital in a friendly, professional manner
  • Accesses patient information in EPIC or another Health Information System as appropriate
  • Stays up to date with events, office locations, meeting locations, hospital programs to be able to provide accurate information
  • Keeps alert to all activities in the lobby area with special sensitivity to safety/security issues.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 3 years customer service experience preferred.
  • Fluency in English and a second language (Portuguese, Spanish or Haitian Creole) preferred.
