Located in Somerville, the beautiful new facility offers care for children and adolescents with neuro-developmental disorders. The new Center for Inpatient Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at Somerville will provide a transformative continuum of patient and family-centered care for diverse youth with mental health needs.

We have a wonderful opportunity for a Nurse Manager to lead our nursing teams on our six bed Neurodevelopment Unit and our ten bed Adolescent Unit. Both units are located on the fifth floor at our Somerville campus. The Nurse Manager has 24-hour accountability and responsibility for nursing care delivered to patients as well as supervision of nursing staff. 

An ideal candidate will have experience in clinical operations, service planning, business performance, and implementation of systems to increase efficiencies while maintaining or improving quality to the child psychiatry department.

CHA’s Neurodevelopment Unit and Adolescent Unit provide specialist assessment and care for children and adolescents who have severe mental health and neurodevelopmental challenges. Our units provide services for children experiencing complex and persistent emotional and behavioral difficulties due to these challenges.

Our units offer private rooms, communal eating and living areas, an outdoor activity space, an active sensory room, quiet ‘calming’ spaces for both individual and group play and learning.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse licensure

  • BSN and/or ASN is required. MSN is preferred.

  • American Heart Association BLS

  • At least five years clinical experience in acute psychiatric nursing.

  • Previous youth behavioral health experience is strongly preferred.

  • Candidates must have demonstrated leadership and management abilities.

  • All newly hired candidates must successfully complete a job specific physical test.
