The Department of Respiratory Therapy provides respiratory care under the direction of a Pulmonologist. Inpatient and Emergency procedures are available at all three campuses with outpatient testing available at Somerville and Everett.
JOB PURPOSE: To provide and oversee all aspects of care related to performing and scoring sleep studies and EEG's, under medical direction in a timely, efficient, safe, and personable manner. The PSG Technician will administer diagnostic modalities that include, but are not limited to, set up and initiation of in lab diagnostic sleep studies, CPAP Titrations, Bi-Level Titrations, MSLT studies, Home Sleep Testing, education of patient and families regarding sleep diagnosis and treatment of related disorders and sleep hygiene.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: Education and/or Experience Successful completion of an accredited Sleep Technology educational program leading to a certificate or associate degree. One of the following credentials is required: Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), or Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) credential.
CERTIFICATIONS: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE: One year polysomnography experience with pediatric, adult and geriatric patients preferred.
